Bando Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 woodland course in Bando, Ibaraki Prefecture. Designed by Makoto Harada, it opened in 1964, making it one of the older golf clubs in the prefecture, predating the resort-course boom of the 1980s and 1990s. The course is easy to reach by car, sitting about 3 minutes from the tollgate at Bando Interchange on the Ken-O Expressway. Caddies are available on an optional basis, and golfers can use 2-seat riding carts that are permitted onto the fairways year-round, a feature not offered at every Japanese club. As a woodland layout dating to the mid-1960s, Bando reflects an earlier era of Japanese course design, built during the country's first wave of golf club development following the postwar economic recovery. Its 1964 opening places it among Ibaraki's founding generation of clubs.
