Golden Lakes Country Club

Golden Lakes Country Club is a 27-hole, par-108 course in Moka, Tochigi Prefecture, spread across three 9-hole loops totaling 10,210 yards. The hilly layout was designed by Dye Design, a United States-based golf course architecture firm, and the club opened in 1993. With three combinable nines, golfers can play several different 18-hole routings depending on which loops are paired together, a format common at larger Japanese clubs of this era. Carts are self-drive riding carts, and fairway entry is permitted, letting golfers drive directly onto the fairway rather than sticking to cart paths, a convenience often reserved for member clubs or off-peak play. A self-cart option is also available for golfers who prefer to manage their own round without a caddie. Caddie service itself is optional rather than required, giving visitors the choice between a caddied round and a self-play round. The club has an on-site bath facility for use after play. Its 1993 opening places it among the courses built during Japan's late-century golf development wave, with an American design firm behind the routing across its hilly Tochigi site.
