Great Island Club is an 18-hole, par-72 hilly course in Chonan, Chosei District, Chiba Prefecture, opened in 1993. The layout was designed jointly by Masanori Honjo and Susumu Tobari, following the rolling hills of the Boso Peninsula's inland district. The clubhouse includes a bathhouse for golfers after their round. Access is available by JR Sotobo Line to Mobara Station, or by car via the Ken-O Expressway's Mobara-Chonan Interchange through the Togane Road, or the Ichihara-Tsurumai Interchange via the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line. This dual expressway access makes the course reachable from both the Tokyo and Chiba coastal sides. As with other courses in the Chonan hilly belt, the terrain brings elevation changes across the round, and the club sits close to Toyo Country Club and Golden Cross Country Club in the same district.
