Hōryūji Country Club is an 18-hole, par-72 woodland course in Ikaruga, Nara Prefecture, opened in 1965. The back tees play to 6,613 yards. The course takes its name from the nearby Hōryūji temple, one of Japan's oldest wooden structures, and lies close to JR Yamatoji Line's Hōryūji Station, from which the club runs a shuttle bus of about 15 minutes. By car, the Nishi-Meihan Expressway's Hōryūji IC is roughly 4 kilometers away. Golfers can choose between a caddy-assisted round or self-play with a GPS-equipped cart, giving visitors flexibility depending on preference and group size. Having opened nearly six decades ago, the course is one of the established woodland layouts in the Nara golf scene, set in the historic Ikaruga area southwest of Nara city. For travelers combining a visit to Hōryūji temple with golf, the course's proximity to both the station and the temple grounds makes it a practical stop in the region.
