Higashi Joyo Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 course set on wooded terrain in Joyo, Kyoto Prefecture. Designed by Kaoru Kasugai, the course opened in 1966 and measures 6,288 yards from the back tees. Golf carts on the course are GPS-equipped. Access by car runs via the Keiji Bypass or Meishin Expressway to either the Kuze or Uji-higashi interchanges, each about 13 kilometers from the club. Golfers without a car can reach the club from Kintetsu Kyoto Line's Okubo Station by taxi in around 15 minutes, or from Terada Station via the club's own shuttle bus, a roughly 10-minute ride. The woodland setting places the course among trees typical of the Joyo area southwest of Kyoto city, a district that is also home to a second course, Joyo Country Club, nearby.
