The course is reachable by car from Shin-Kanuma Station on the Tobu Nikko Line, about 10 minutes away, or via Kanuma Interchange on the Tohoku Expressway, roughly 13 to 15 kilometers and about 25 minutes from the club. Like nearby Nanmairo Country Club and Satsuki Golf Club, Kōryō opened in 1975 with a 27-hole, par-108 layout, placing it among a group of established hilly courses built in the Kanuma area in the mid-1970s.
