Kushiro Airport Golf Club is a 27-hole, par-108 course laid out over hilly terrain in Shiranuka, Hokkaido, near the city of Kushiro. It opened in 1981 and was built by Kumagai Gumi, one of Japan's major general construction firms. The club takes its name from its proximity to Kushiro Airport in eastern Hokkaido, a region known for cooler summer temperatures than much of the rest of the country. Access to the club is provided by JR's Nemuro Main Line, with Kushiro Station serving as the nearest rail stop, and by car via the Doto Expressway's Uratō Interchange. The hilly routing across 27 holes gives players elevation change across the property, distinguishing it from the flatter courses more common on Hokkaido's coastal plains. With three nine-hole sequences combining to a par of 108, groups have flexibility in how they structure a round. The course's eastern Hokkaido setting places it within reach of Kushiro's wetlands and coastal scenery for golfers extending their stay in the region.
