Nara Public Golf Course is an 18-hole, par-70 course on hilly terrain in Nara city, designed by Masayoshi Horishita and opened in 1973. The course plays to a total of 5,500 yards, shorter than many 18-hole layouts in the region, reflecting its public, accessible character. It is reachable by taxi from either JR Nara Station or Kintetsu-Nara Station, roughly 15 to 20 minutes away, and by car via the Dai-ni Hanna Toll Road's Horai ramp (about 25 minutes) or the Kyoto-Nara Road's Kizu Interchange (about 20 minutes). Rounds are played without a caddy, using five-seater riding carts. A bath is available on site for players after finishing their round. As one of the older public courses in the Nara area, having opened over five decades ago, it offers straightforward par-70 golf on hilly ground for visitors staying in or around the city of Nara.
