Seve Ballesteros Golf Club Izumi Course

Seve Ballesteros Golf Club Izumi Course is an 18-hole, par-72 hilly layout in Iwaki, Fukushima, designed by Seve Ballesteros in association with Trajectory. The course plays to a total yardage of 7,033 yards, a length that reflects its championship-style design pedigree. It sits at Takinosawa in Izumi-machi, Iwaki, on Fukushima's Pacific coast side. Golfers arriving by rail can reach the course from JR Izumi Station on the Joban Line, where a reserved club bus is available; drivers can use the Joban Expressway via either the Iwaki-Nakoso or Iwaki-Yumoto interchange. As one of the few Japanese courses bearing the name of a five-time major champion, it carries a design identity distinct from many of Japan's more traditional resort layouts. The hilly terrain of the Iwaki area shapes a routing that moves through elevation change rather than flat parkland, a hallmark of Ballesteros-associated designs built elsewhere in the world.
