The course runs through wooded terrain for a total yardage of 6,950 yards. It is located at Hatashinden in Ibenmachi, within reach of the Kintetsu Nagoya Line's Kuwana Station, about a 30-minute taxi ride away, or the Higashi-Meihan Expressway's Kuwana-Higashi Interchange, roughly 13 kilometers and 20 minutes by car. As a Peter Thomson design dating to the late 1970s, Three Lakes forms part of the cluster of courses around Inabe and Kuwana in northern Mie, alongside other woodland and hilly layouts in the area. Golfers visiting the region can pair a round here with nearby Mie courses as part of a wider itinerary.
